Maker Faire, Maker Faire, make me a match, find me a find, catch me a catch

A lovely Saturday at the Bay Area Maker Faire. Where else can you sit in the grass with some crafty company and have a robotic giraffe walk by?

Maker Faire Blog

Where else can your six-year old create a woolen masterpiece

Maker Faire Bea's Felt

while you try to felt firm enough under the tutelage of the Mistress that is Moxie?

Maker Faire Moxie

Here is one of her creations

and here is my very purple guy. She has a tutorial here - I know how you all love your tutorials.

Where else can you meet a pair of lovely and talented bloggers; an inhabitant of Etsy Labs; the original Wardrobe Remixer; or a Craft magazine cover girl? Well, felter of cover fruit. Most telling, where can you have a guy walk up to a clutch of crafters to ask for some roving to insulate part of his Van de Graaff generator? I mean really now.

Mr Knitsonya:

And I bet the generator guy would be just as picky about what sorts of fibers go into his felt as you.

I love the tongue on your little purple guy. Looks like it was a great time.

I have faire envy. And I love spousal comments, like the one above.

Sounds like a wonderful time!

You had me at that giraffe. Yowza.

WAHHHHH! I so wanted to go!
speaking of GO...
