I Heart Shoyu Chicken or Everybody should have a birthday weekend
Sunday saw us visiting some friends for a birthday gathering. Not only did the lovely Lina make her signature (hey, I've only had it the one time) Chocolate Coconut Cake, but she also indulged my Shoyu Chicken fix. Now doesn't that green onion look just like a candle?
Thank you for the birthday wishes, I've got some of my own to make: Happy Birthday to Marcie (for yesterday) and Kobi and Tiffen for today. I tell you, June birthdays make for the best company. I'll tell you something else, that Lina sure can ice a cake.
Brace yourselves for some actual knitting content soon.

Flattery as a form of bribery? What better compliment could you pay me... I will cook you shoyu chicken and bake you a cake anytime. What else can I say, except thank you for being so wise and allowing me to be comfortable with my imperfections and short-comings. That's a special thing.

Happy Birthday to you too! Chocolate coconut cake sounds amazing!!! I ordered my own birthday cake this year if it makes you feel any better. I wanted what I wanted and my hubby is not so detail oriented that I thought I would get what I wanted! Ridiculous. Does that make me a control freak? I just never eat cake so when I do, I like it to be how I like it. Shoyu chicken looks good too.
