The Lovely and the Bitter or Another Bloggish Outing

Of course I'm talking about Claire of Little Lovelies and Bethany of Bitter Betty. Last week we met up for a day in San Francisco. We started at Tartine - I have documented other visits to that purveyor of tarts, pastries, and general baked delights, needless to say we stuffed our cake-holes.

Smaller sized pic for blog

Claire brought one of her Cyrus-size little lovelies. Bethany brought gifts of beautiful vintage aprons. I was empty-handed, but played tour guide for the day. After leaving Tartine, we wandered down Clarion Alley, one of the many mural-packed sites San Francisco's Mission district is known for.

I stocked up on umbrellas at the dollar store (more on that later) and we hit Thrift Town for that second-hand fix. My score was a pair of turquoise shoes for Beatrice. We all agreed they were very "pageant" and a must have. I think she carries the look off quite nicely.

Claire sampled the rose ice cream at Bombay Ice Cream, Bethany had the mango, and I stuck with pistachio. We headed up Valencia Street and into The Candy Store.

While it does sell candy, it also provides a bumper crop of independent designers and crafters a venue to showcase their amazing creations. Lisa Congdon's latest show was up on the walls and Diana Fayt's amazing pottery was on display. By then the smallest amongst were beginning to expire, as they tend to do. More adventures for another day.

As if I weren't envious enough of this lovely-sounding visit when Bethany posted about it, you've gone and made me doubly disappointed that I don't live close enough to SF to tag along after you fabulous bloggers. Awesome photos (and cool kicks for your girl)!
