So I was talking about umbrellas

There was a party here

When you are seven and all you want to do for your party is have pizza and friends over to watch Singin' in the Rain, umbrellas make for the perfect party favor. Paper cocktail umbrellas are also de rigeur.

Oh FUN!!!! When I grew up and realized that I could purchase a box of the paper umbrellas I almost passed out!!!!

All my life I had been eager for the moments when on outings I could order virgin pina coladas, just for the umbrella! And the cherries of course....

But, when I moved out on my own, 18, and went shopping I was like , "What, you can buy a whole box of umbrellas, do other people know this???" (I am easily amuzed)

So fun!!! I hope the kids had a blast and that your butler promptly cleaned up the mess so you could rest??? xoxoxoxo

Happy 7, dear girl!

happy birthday, and what a sophisticated taste in movies you have!! keep it up.

sounds like the perfect party! that was one of my favorite movies growing up...i could watch gene kelly dance for hours.

happy seven sweet girl! xx

Sounds like my kind of party- what great taste in film!

I'm tired from just looking at it.

Birthday parties freak me out.

This photo is just awesome, Sonya. Fabulous perspective, and so cool that you took it after the partying ended.

ooooh looks like a great party!!

When I was little I used to go to this patisserie/bar thing every Sunday with my dad to pick up some cakes for after lunch. He'd have whatever dad had in the 70s and I would get a pear juice with a tiny colourful ombrella. How I love them. Especially the bright turquoise ones.

Good memories.

Singin in the Rain? What good taste some 7 year olds have. Happy Birthday.
