Sockapaloser (I am) and a belated sock thank you

Sockapalooza socks (finally)

Why have I suddenly and so uncharacteristically turned sour on swaps? When you find yourself two months late in the sending, the whole concept becomes a bit of an albatross. My socks for Sockapalooza 4 are FINALLY done. Steph, you are a swap partner of amazing patience and your socks are winging their way to you.

Sockapalooza socks that I received

My pair arrived back in August (eep!) knit by the lovely Patti. She was a sneaky sock pal, lurking and leaving telling comments. She did her research well, I absolutely love them. A thank you, very late in the coming.

I love the yarn you chose, the colours are just beautiful- lucky partner.

I am sure that your swap partner feels that any creation of yours is worth the wait!! I would!!! xxooxox

I totally hear you, sister. I love swaps, the idea of swaps, the fun that is getting a swap package together, the whole thing. Unless, of course, life intervenes and then pushes everything back making one feel like a toad as the deadline looms. And less creative as the deadline passes, just rushed to get *something* out. All the cute plans out the window. Tip of the hat to your hilarious post title, btw.

You win the best blog post title contest again! Too dang funny...
I whole heartedly agree on the swap thing, too. Little, casual, one-to-one swaps, maybe. But the big dogs. I'm scared of 'em.

two months late on a swap eh? oh, i've done MUCH worse than that! so you weren't ditching swaps on my account? remember those bird ATCs i promised you a thousand years ago? yeah... they are still coming.

Sara:

How does one, ahem, join a swap? I have never swapped. I'd like to swap. I am in an upswing of creative fervor right now and need a swap project. I'm thinking small swap: buttons, scrappy things, fabrics, goodies, Tiny knitted thingies.

Where does one go? How does one find a Swap-Mate?

Lord help me...I need more to do.
