My white blood cells and I are valiantly fending off a sinus infection. No. Fun. Holiday making will proceed, but instead of the wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am-it's-the-26th-xmas
-is-a-distant-memory, things are going to be spread out - the holidays, plural. More joy and more hot tea.

oh no! you must be miserable preparing for our visit. we scheduled our stomach flu for 10 days ago, so we'd be done with it by the time we came to visit.

poor planning, that's what you've done! perhaps you'll be more organized and get sick AFTER the holidays next time.
