Beautiful Film Week - Day 1
Joining the bandwagon after seeing Susan's blog. That and I was just thinking about this movie just yesterday. My first offering is Whale Rider - a strong, young female lead, the struggle of tradition in a modern world, and the crisis of identity, what more do you need? I sob my way through the end every time.

It is a wonderful movie - filmed in a gorgeous part of NZ. The book it is based on is also wonderful - Witi Ihimaera is a superb writer.
Vicky Haughton who is the Nanny in it was an actor at the theatre we belonged to as a kid - she is brilliant - has a lovely singing voice.
I'm enjoying your other movie picks too. Much Ado About Nothing is a good watch.

How have I not seen this?
I'm glad you joined in. Catching up on a few of your beautiful films posts has me remembering some movies I loved and anxious to see one or two new (to me) movies, too.
