Beautiful Film Week - Day 7

When in doubt go for color or A New Chapter

Transamerica was one of those movies that became more important to me the more I watched it. I have struggled with my weight and issues of body image for as long as I can remember. But instead of camouflaging my body, I've decided to use what I wear as an expression of my creativity. We're all on a journey and it can be a colorful one.

That is a great attitude and you look great in those colours :)
I haven't seen Transamerica - I'll look out for it.

ooooh! especially those pants! did you make or acquire?

Oh man, I can't tell you how much I love this outfit! I feel like I totally can't rock the colorful layers/scarfy look, but it looks amazing on you!

You always look so fabulous and you inspire me (I'm a similar size) through your wardrobe remix on flickr over and over again. You are genuinely one of my top ten style icons!

very cute! I have those same issues and keep saving my "good" fabric for when I am skinnier and can look cuter in the clothes. Working on that.

I love your outfits. Every time you post a picture of yourself, I always take the time to look at everything you're wearing. Your sweaters are awesome. :) I didn't realize you had body issues because you seem so confident. You are an inspiration. :)

fan-freakin-tastic! thanks for being exactly who you are....

Right on.

I love that Miss Sonya! And, may I say, I loooove your style! Your colors, the textiles!! I am so inspired to relook at my black wardrobe!! xoox

hpnyknits:

you go girl!

Jess:

you are a beautiful person. believe in who you are. be who the person you are. live happily!
Hugs!

I've not watched this movie, but will have to check it out.

Too right, Sonya. We are on a journey and we don't know how long it is. I applaud you for expressing your creativity in wearing what makes you happy. I have to take notes from you on that. I think you're as beautiful and vibrant as the colours you choose.

Absolutely! I love the colour combinations in that photo, by the way. And I didn't know you had a wardrobe remix on flickr - I'm going to go look now!

It wasn't until I read all of these comments that I knew you participated in Wardrobe Remix (I have forbidden myself to enter into the world of Flickr lest my entire life be spent in front of the computer - at least I get out of the house to go to work now). This photo of you is simply smashing! You rock those colors and layers.
It took me three long decades to finally get to the point where I wear pieces of clothing that are fun and bold as opposed to using clothing to simply hide my body. While I think I'll always battle with body image issues, I hope that the older I get, the more comfortable I'll be in my own skin. Cheers to you in yours!

Mea:

What a cool outfit!!! I love it. A good color combo too. I think the whole body image thing sucks. I wish I could just remove those pesky doubts and worries to just leave the rest to be happy.

Anna from Sweden:

Hi, you cool american girl! You look great and warm and friendly. A most importantly, you look like you - not like somebody trying to look like somebody else. I love you blog - though I just found it. I'll be back, since I see we have love of creativity and need of expression in common. Have a great weekend (eventually)! /Anna

beautiful lady, beautiful soul. i love that you are not afraid to wear color.
