Stitches West or Unintentional Habu
Every year at Stitches I visit the Habu booth. I bought a ball of Fique which is a pineapple fiber yarn, because I overheard another attendee talking about how you could crochet a basket with the stuff. Intriguing. I also pre-ordered a kit for Nette by cocoknits.
At the cocoknits/Article Pract booth I bought a copy of Gisela (using Habu Cotton Gima) as well as a copy of Autumn, one of the new Article Patterns (using Habu Tsumugi Silk). I didn't realize the connection until I got home. The only non-Habu related thing I bought was this hank of Jade Sapphire Cashmere-Silk 2-Ply. Yum.

I've been so intrigued by Habu but not gotten any yet.

You've now given me a direction to go when I travel to MDSW. I will be adventuring for the new and unusual instead of the perfect (is there such a thing) fiber that will make my life complete (although if I found some silk/cashmere I have to think it would come close.) Thanks!

How'd ya manage to flip open a book to such a page? Or "worse" remember the page??? In the mind of knitsonya: oh, I must buy this yarn. It reminds me of those squid I love so much!
So fab!

Sigh. You know my love for all things Habu. I wish I could have been there but I suppose the closet full of yarn will have to do for now.

Maybe I'll get to go next year. I'm imagining all sorts of opportunities opening up for me once my little guy is two. What? It doesn't work that way? Two-year-olds aren't any easier? Don't tell me that.

It was so nice to see you, if only for a couple minutes! I, too, made themed purchases: everything was Fleece Artist or Handmaiden, except for the Lisa Souza superwash merino roving.
Oh, and I got some free samples from Malabrigo, because why not? ~_^

Love the yarn you bought! I'm so sad I didn't make it up to Stitches... next year for sure. From the looks of it, I will need to start saving now for all of the fun yarn I want to buy.
So, what are you going to do with the Cashmere... or is it still TBD?
