Maker Faire '08 or How I had more of a Schmoozer-Fest

Maker Faire

What did I do at the Maker Faire? Well I mainly stood or sat and socialized. There was my Santa Cruz Crafting Contingent made up of Bitter Betty and Michelle of Green Kitchen. Wardrobe Re-Mixer and all-around fiber arts gal Sadhita. The Bay Area Knittas, hizKNITS and

"Make love to the yarn!"

PuNk rAwK pUrL cradling her latest fiber purchase.

There were the people I only got to spend 30 seconds with: Claire of little lovelies, Moxie of made by moxie, and Brooklynn aka brooklynn23. I was sorely tempted to come back for seconds on Sunday, believe me.

There were the folks I met for the first time in real life: Kristina and Adrienne of A Verb for Keeping Warm, Melissa of Under Construction, Claire of both Absolutely Small and The Needle fame:

The cutest pompom in the world

[That's not Claire, but a photo of one of her amazingly cute creations]

Amigurumi (repost for blog)

and Tammie the Amigurumi Goddess of Roxy Craft who I keep wanting to call Roxy, but am trying really hard to remember not to.

There was the opportunity to stand behind the Yarn Harlot in an attempt to photograph her knitting prowess - Irish Cottage Knitting. The woman can crank it.

The lady can knit

Clustered around the spectacle was my Ravelry crowd: Snuffykin, starryknit, cuteknitter, and Snowpaws.

And lastly there were the Cupcake Cars. How I adore them.

P.S. - I want to drive a cupcake car now.
