Entering the Fifth Circle of Fiber Inferno or Loom

Loom detail

Loom detail

I have always loved textiles, but I have successfully managed to fight the urge to weave. There were some close calls (the freecycle offer of a floor loom - Erin!) but with a studio came a very generous offer from Pasha.

Loom

Meet my new Leclerc 24" 4 shaft table loom. I need a book and classes. Weaving is complicated stuff. Much terminology. Many finicky bits.

ooooh! I am SO excited to see what you make!

How exciting to learn a new art form. I can't wait to see what you produce.

beautiful!
with four overhead heedles, you can do wonderful complex designs..as well as some simple weaves
but you'll need new yarns--Webs has some great yarns for weaving.. and MrKnitSonya has an apreciation of weaving..

i see a future of curtain panels, and table runners, and blankets...

squeal of delight! WOW! finicky bits indeed. But what an awesome esoteric piece of sculpture for your house! can;t wait ot see what you make. Enjoy, dear!

YEA! What a pretty table loom!
I have been weaving since January, and I am have SO much to learn - the learning curve is steep, but I am told that practice is key :) Can't wait to see what you do with it!

I think I'm a little jealous. Who knows why. I certainly don't have the time or space for weaving. Wait. THAT'S why. LOL

Hey there! Happy Birthday! Congrats on the loom. I may end up living with a friend who has a floor loom, heaven help us!

It looks very impressive!

Oh, how wonderful, Sonya! I'm so excited to see what you will weave. I have fought the temptation so far on this myself, but feel rewarded that I can live vicariously through you and your weaving. I know it's certain to be stunning! Happy weaving!

Ooh, that looks intimidating... but exciting too!

Mr Knitsonya:

One table loom is so much bigger than all of cameras and projectors I've acquired. I can't see how my mom thinks those have pushed your fiber out.
