Good things come to theater seats that wait

Theater Seats

I thought was last June when these came into my life. No. Turns out it was April. After living with them as a pile in the hall, shuffling them in and out of the under-the-stairs closet, they finally "are" - vision realized.

In a very it-takes-a-village fashion, several people were involved: The surly teenager, with great ingenuity, broke them down and hauled them to the car. My friend Kobi brought the fabric back from a trip to Finland. (I provided the address to the Marimekko outlet) Pasha serendipitously used upholstery batting as packing material when she mailed the loom. And finally Mr. Knitsonya helped put them back together again. (There was that brief 45 minute window today where I thought I had thrown away all the hardware) It was like some epic craft undertaking: Cast of thousands! Years in the making! But aren't they gorgeous?

Brilliant! I am serious! These are perfect in everyway and I want them so badly...sigh...

Stunning.

Gorgeous! Truly inspiring, Sonya. Well done!

they are fabulous! I like that you used different fabrics for the three and the kikerikii (pardon rooster) in the background will keep an I on visitors trying to hide them under their T-shirts when leaving your house (I would try ;o))

these are fantastic! brava!!!

xtina:

Indeed they are!

I am dumbstruck with awe and envy.

So sweet of you to provide your friend with the address of the fabric shop!
You did an AMAZING job on these seats, lady. All in good time...

Ribs:

Absolutely love these! All the more so because I have two rescued chairs that I've been planning to recover for at least two years now and because I live in Finland, where Marimekko comes from :)

Oh no! this so cute. We just had to get rid of a theater seat because of a big move. These look so great though! Now I'm even more sad we had to get rid of it. It was a new one though, a sample, wouldn't have looked this cool!

Those are amazing! I would love to have them in my home!!!

Eva:

i WANT these! I love them... how amazing!!!!
